Proposal Process
The Lux Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals. Organizations that are invited to submit full proposals will be sent a link to a proposal form which includes questions about how Lux Foundation funds will be utilized, the impact the grant would have, goals and objectives, evaluation strategies, an organizational budget and, if applicable, a program budget and other supporting documents which are outlined in the proposal instructions. Proposals are assigned to board members for review and each proposal is discussed with the full board at two meetings per year, in the spring and in the summer. Applicant organizations are generally notified about their funding status within two weeks of a proposal review meeting. For more information on our proposal process, please visit the FAQ page

LOI forms can be submitted year-round, but are due by January15th to be considered for that calendar year. The board of directors reviews LOI forms at the spring board meeting. Once the form is submitted, a confirmation of receipt e-mail will be sent. Should there be interest in learning more about an organization or if a full proposal is accepted, the foundation will reach out by the end of April. LOI Forms may only be submitted once per year per organization, not per program.
